It really began when I started packing up. It wasn’t until then that I fully realized where I was going. I have always wanted to make a difference. So why not start at the Boys and Girls Club, right? Who wouldn’t want their hair done? Who cares if I look different or if they might not think they can relate to me, I’m human too. But how exactly would they take me? Would they laugh at me? I surely hoped they could see past any difference and believe in the possibility that I could offer something.

As I walked into the building I looked up and down and felt the power of what I was about to do. It wasn’t scary, it was exhilarating. Within a minute of walking in, I was complimented on my hair (which, by the way, is bright orange and pink ). I was off to a good start. This was going to be good.

We started to set up our things: flat irons, clippers, mirrors, capes and the crowd began to grow. We were in a room with a wall of windows. It was like being in a fish bowl. The faces through the glass smiled back at us. As the time came to ask for the first group to come in, we were ready to make lasting impressions. It was our turn to make a difference.

The first group was great. They were brave and weren’t afraid to ask for what they wanted. In fact one student thought our boss needed some help. I told him he had been doing hair for 35 years hoping to gain his trust. It didn’t work. Yet in the end it was perfect. It just got better from there. Another student asked for double shooting stars shaved into the side of his head. When we asked if his mom would be okay with it he said, “ Of course. She won’t be mad if its free.” Priceless. They continued to impress us.

Minutes passed and more students began to come. They told us what they wanted to be when they grew up. They told us about their family and friends. It was magical. We only wished we could have stayed all night. But we had to pack up and say goodbye. Sometimes there really just aren’t enough hours in the day. It wasn’t goodbye for good; it was just goodbye until next time.

The best part of the time we spent at the Boys and Girls Club is the lasting effect it will have on me. I can’t wait to go back again. The smiles were all I needed to know that my fears were unwarranted. Another amazing part of the night was the teamwork with our salon. We all came together and now have a better sense of what we stand for. The gift wasn’t really from us to the Boys and Girls club, it was from them to us.

Another student asked for double shooting stars shaved into the side of his head. When we asked if his mom would be okay with it he said, “ Of course. She won’t be mad if its free”. Priceless. They continued to impress us.

Minutes passed and more students began to come. They told us what they wanted to be when they grew up. They told us about their family and friends. It was magic. We only wished we could have stayed all night. But, we had to pack up and say goodbye. Sometimes there really just aren’t enough hours in the day. It wasn’t goodbye for good, it was just goodbye until next time.

So I’m thoroughly impressed! After just two months of using Aveda skin care products my face is CLEAR! Not only did it clear up my painful cystic acne, but all my scaring looks amazingly bright. Its gotten to where I don’t have to think about how my skin looks, or if my blemishes are noticeable… because they are gone! And another plus I’ve noticed is that my products last forever, which makes it worth the cost.
I slacked a little last week, and wasn’t using them in the day and night because I had completely forgotten that I’ve ever had problems with my skin. I’ve been Back on my routine the last few days, and used the face mask yesterday (Face mask Thursdays as I like to call it).
I never thought id be a girl with clean skin, but Aveda products have given me more than that, I, Faith Niece have damn good skin!
Thank you to the whole crew at Gary Lambert Salon and spa!

A couple of weeks behind in my blogging, but for a good reason. I have been traveling in China, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia for the last couple of weeks. With my Aveda products by my side, I weathered jet lag, cold then hot weather, and finally a completely different diet. My cleaning and hydration routines stayed the same. And I continued with the Aveda makeup as well. I am happy to report my skin continued to improve as evident by the daughter-in-law’s comment upon my return. ” Your skin looks great!”. That is all I need to confirm that I will use Aveda forever! One exception, I have to visit Gary Lambert’s Salon today to restock my Aveda products that were confiscated by a custom agent in Seoul, South Korean. Thanks for the journey into the world of Aveeda.

I cant count again! It is week six of using Aveda face product. for a quick recap I’m using the following items:
-Outerpeace Cleanser (I also use the cleansing cloths, which are great when I don’t have much time, or just after yoga)
-Enbrightenment Toner
-Enbrightenment Serum
-Enbrightenment Moisturizer
-Outerpeace Face Mask
-Outereace Spot treatment
When I started I was really excited because I love Aveda products, but less than hopeful that my skin would actually improve due to all my failed attempts.
Lucky for me I was wrong. My face looks amazing! my breakouts are very tiny and clear up fast, but most of all my scaring from past acne has faded! Also my skin texture has gotten very smooth and even. I was accustomed to my skin being “bumpy” and it still makes me happy every morning to see how smooth my skin is now.
I took more pictures so click here to see them.

BTW: Thank you Gary Lambert Salon and all the wonderful people who work there for your love and support! Your all amazing!

I have completed over three week and using Aveda skin care products. There is one thing that I discovered regarding the Aveda firming eye creme. A little goes and long way and too much caused me to have red irritated eyes. I no longer apply the product to the top eye lid and that has solved the problem. Still extremely happly with the Aveda skin care line. It has streamline my daily regiment and left me with beautiful skin. Thank you Aveda for offering a skin care line that really works for me.
